In addition to owning West Escondido Automotive & Transmission for over 23 years, Brian is also on the Board of the Auto Care Association’s Car Care Professional Network that strives to provide structure to promote communication among members of the association. Brian Bowersock’s automotive career started in high school where he grew up in Kettering, OH during a vocational automotive program during his junior and senior years of high school. The program gave him a solid foundation in technical skills and customer service, as people from the community could bring their cars in to be worked on.
After graduation, Bowersock went into the Navy for five years working on equipment. During this time, he went to San Diego College to get his degree in automotive technology and ASE Certification.
After the Navy, Brian worked at an independent repair shop for a year until he took over a failing auto repair shop, buying all the equipment with the little savings he had. He then turned the shop around and made it into West Escondido Automotive & Transmission.
After four years, Brian moved the West Escondido shop to the 10,000 square foot location they’re currently in.
Brian’s extensive experience has helped him become an authority in the automotive industry, especially in the San Diego area. The highly recognized Ask the Auto Man television segment runs on San Diego Channel 6, the CW every Saturday at 8:20 a.m.
